I’m Caroline, a humanist celebrant, accredited with Humanists UK.

Would you like your wedding ceremony to be the most memorable part of your day for you and your guests? I will work with you to create a beautiful, personal, bespoke ceremony that will be the most enjoyable and vibrant part of your beautiful day.

My husband Danny and I got married in one of the first legal humanist wedding ceremonies in Scotland in 2006, and we and our guests loved it. It was a chance to get creative and make our wedding ceremony meaningful and beautiful. We incorporated uplifting readings told by our friends – we let our guests hear our authentic story, my friend sang Songbird, my other friend did a reading, my dad read ‘Kooks’ by David Bowie as a reading, we got our son involved and we said vows that were informal and meant something. I was a magazine editor at the time and I was so enthused by our wedding experience, I became the editor of the national humanist magazine ‘Humanitie’. I ended up editing the magazine for over 6 years and became a humanist celebrant.

I love my job!

For over ten years I have I been able to meet so many lovely people and have helped them tell their stories and have original, fun, meaningful and beautiful humanist ceremonies that reflect them, their personalities and lives.

Please get in touch and we can chat about how you can have either an amazing wedding ceremony that is the best part of your special day or a naming ceremony that will welcome your beautiful child into the world in a joyous and meaningful way.

See below for seven more facts about me and some stunning pics of some of the amazing weddings I have worked on.

Seven more facts about me

I have two lovely sons – one who is grown up and has severe special needs – he is so happy and sociable. And one who is eight – he is a brilliant little companion and loves a good chat.

I live in North London on the Stroud Green / Crouch End border. I love living in such a vibrant area full of interesting people.

I run a gardening group at my son’s primary school for the parents so we can plant with the children. It makes sure that the kids have lovely greenery and colour around them. I also love gardening and grow my own vegetables. Gardeners’ World is my favourite programme and Monty Don is my hero.

I used to be a magazine editor and have edited lots of different titles. My most relevant being Humanitie, that I edited for six years, which is a humanist members’ magazine.

I spent a lot of my humanist celebrant career in Scotland and have conducted hundreds of legal humanist weddings.

I was a business coach. I used to help creative small business owners make their businesses thrive and ensure they had time for fun in their lives.

For any of you who have written about yourself on your own website – you will know it is a difficult exercise. So for you to have an idea of what I’m like – I asked my close friends and family to give me five words that describe me and this is the selection they all came up with: Positive, Friendly, Energetic, Dynamic, Enthusiastic, Helpful, Loving, Conscientious, Trustworthy, Loyal, Feisty, Caring, Reliable, Human, Ambitious and Generous. (Glad they are all positive!!).
